Faith-Lilac Way Lutheran Church

On Sunday, February 12th, the W/ELCA ladies will host a Chocolate Extravaganza Sale of homemade chocolate confections and other sweet treats to purchase for a special Valentine or simply a treat for a neighbor the family and even for yourself. It will be a great way to show your love and appreciation for those you care about.

Remember summer? Underneath all this snow (well, ok we are still waiting for that as well!) there are memories of warm summer days filled with swimming, Bible study, games, fun, ice cream and getting to know Jesus. It may be cold outside but it’s time to be thinking about camp at Wapogasset Bible Camp in Amery, Wisconsin.

This group continues to meet the third Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall to knit and crochet prayer shawls, hats and mittens for children (please see the article “Giving Beyond Our Doors” on page 4 for the goodness that comes from this group!).

The Reformation is, perhaps, one of our finest legacies as Lutherans. But did you know it is a process that continues on today?

NEAR Foodshelf is our local foodshelf, run and cared for by members of local congregations, including FLW. Through NEAR foodshelf, you feed many hungry families and give a gift of hope to those who are in a difficult situation. Furthermore, the gift is given to families in a non-judgmental, Christ-like manner. For all of these reasons, Faith-Lilac Way is glad to be a faithful contributor to NEAR.

In January we are reminded both of our own baptism, in which we have been made children of God, and of the commitment we make when someone is baptized at Faith-Lilac Way. As a congregation, we are asked, “People of God, do you promise to support (name of the baptized) and pray for them in their new life in Christ? We enthusiastically promise: WE DO!
